Good Karma Sox & My OBGYN

I debated about sharing the story of my day on January 22, 2009 at 3:15pm with you, but what the heck- all you ladies will be able to relate.
Let's go back to December 25, 2008. I received these socks from my daughter. At the top of the socks they say Good Karma and on the bottom...well you see, they have smiley faces.

On Thursday morning after I took my shower and in anticipation of my annual pap smear; I was so excited when I put these on.

I came up with the idea the night before, knowing that it must be somewhat of an unfullfilling duty that my obgyn does each day.

Imagine if you can...I'm on the table, stripped down with nothing on but a sheet and my socks...feet in the stirrups...my doctor talking about the upcoming examination and then..." Oh Leslie, I just noticed your socks...haha".

That's when I told her about my decision the night before...that I had thought about her job, the view she has and wearing my socks.
She had a big smile on her face and said that noone had ever done that before. She got a big kick out of it, and so did I. It made the exam all the better!

What a funny little story, Leslie. Humor always lightens any situation, especially somewhat awkward ones. I love your socks.

Have a great day!

Hugs,

Renie

Cute idea!! My doctor has colourful oven mitts on her stirrups so our feet don't have to touch the cold metal:))

What a great sense of humor you have. I'm sure your doc loved it too. As you know, I'm a lover of funky socks too.

Have a great day!

Very funny story. Thanks for sharing.
One of the tests I go for (can't remember which one - getting old, I guess)The lady has lots of floating fish on the ceiling. After all that is what you look at. Keeps your mind on more pleasant things.

Hi Leslie! not sure what I admire more, your sense of humor or your amazing planning abilities in remembering to wear WARM socks in anticipation of those darn stirrups... ; )

Hi Leslie *waving paws from Texas* thanks for visiting my blog. So cool to hear from you. I know what you mean about workin all day and then trying to find the energy to paint at night!!! My studio assistants are such taskmasters, otherwise I'd never get anything done.

Okay, funny, funny...
I had to comment one more time, because the verification word I had last time was "overdoc." I thought that was sorta appropriate for your post. LOL

My doctor is 80 years old now. All his patients have made it clear that we won't allow him to retire. He has the best sense of humor and he would be crazy for these socks. How cute!

I'm visiting via the Worldwide Bloggers United group, that I just joined this week. Your blog is lovely and I do believe I will return!
