sNOw MuCH fUn!

I made these snow kitties after one of the many snow storms we have had here in Virginia. We don't usually get a lot of snow in the South, but this year it has poured down. All together I think we have gotten around 52" of snow.

I have so enjoyed each snowfall. It's so pretty and fun to play in. I purchased an old inner tube tire to sled with, and it has worked well for me. The dogs love the snow too...running, playing and rolling in it.

Have a look at my snowy pictures taken right here at home in the quiet town of Montpelier.

The snow kitties were a first for me...I usually work with sand, but snow works too.

I used some Luma dyes (they don't make this brand anymore, but you can use Dr. Martins) to color them. The dyes are concentrated and water based so it only takes a few drops to get alot of color. I used an old window cleaner bottle as my sprayer.

Snow in Virginia, what a wonderful thing! The birds enjoy it too!

Beautiful photos and very creative kitties!

Here, far to the North of you, in Toronto, we're having one of our driest and warmest winters since records have been kept.

Your snow kitties are so cool! I also love the photos of your other snow scenes. I live in the Ft. Worth TX area and we got a foot of snow the other day. (more than we have ever had at one time)

Wow, 52 inches of snow is way too much for me! But it looks like you are enjoying it. Love the snow kitties. My dogs like the snow as well, but my real kitties (5) not so much. They go out for a short and want back in minutes later.

All our snow is gone now, thank goodness. It is beautiful, but makes life very difficult in this hill country I live in.

Thank you for coming by, Leslie. It was great to hear from you. Happy Valentine's Day!

Hugs,

Renie

Wonderful pictures of your snow. I especially like the ones of the birds. They are so beautiful. I'm glad you enjoyed your snow. Snow is so old hat to us in WNY. I've enjoyed hearing about my southerly blogging friends' snow experiences.

I love the dyed snow kittens :-)

...being here in Virginia I too am having the different kind of winter...though your side of the state is receiving way more than here at the ocean front...my dogs didn't know what to make of it...they've never seen snow before.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments regarding the large painting posted...and your encouragement :-) such fun...painting has been my passion for 40 years + and ever a joy.

Hi Leslie!! How are you doing? I love your colorful snow kitties. What a fantastic idea! We're having a major snowstorm here the last 2 days and I've been bummed out having to shovel so much. But now you've actually gotten me excited, thinking about how nice it would look to add some rainbow colors to the snow outside my door! I've enjoyed looked at your other photos here, as well...the doggies (they must LOVE the snow!) and those sweet birds - the one cardinal there all by his lonesome. He's a beauty. What is that yellow bird? You live in a lovely place. xoxo Serena
