Seahorses

I did this watercolor for my friend Brenda for Christmas this year. She has been very patient in waiting for me to paint something for her... you see; I have known Brenda for 30 years now.

We went to high school together and have been able to stay in touch throughout the years even though we haven't always had the daily kind of friendship that we have now. She has often asked if one day I would make some art for her.

Finally this year I surprised her with this watercolor. She specifically requested seahorses awhile back when I asked what kind of painting she would like and, she was thrilled to receive it. I had it framed for her so that she could hang it up right away.

She is a wonderful person, very caring, gentle and loving . She is also a single Mom to 4 boys. I am not sure how she manages to do everything that she does, and work full time too.

In a thank you card I received from her several days ago she wrote... "I am so grateful God blessed me with you as a true life long friend. You will never really know how much you mean to me." I was touched by her words and I am grateful to have a friend in Brenda too.

These photos of the watercolor aren't so great. I took them at work with an inexpensive digital camera after she opened the present. I'll have to make a trip to her house sometime soon with my new camera for round 2!

Hi Leslie! Thank you so much for coming to my corner of strange!...

First, love the Santa socks...although I could probably think of more inappropriate places to wear them.

Second, I am impressed by people who love to express themselves in any creative outlet...it is so very good for the soul. Your painting is fab.

Only thing I know about seahorses:

The male seahorse rears the babies...what's up with that, eh? Kind of kicks all the rest of us single moms in the teeth. Mr.Mom jerk seahorse.

See you soon:)

Andrea

P.S. OMG! My word verification is "mensent"...hahahahahahaha...is that a sign do you think?

Your creativity and compassion are gifts to treasure.

Love, peace and blessings sista. I love you.
